Medina, OH – A winter weather advisory will take effect from 7 a.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Saturday, impacting Medina, Trumbull, Lorain, Mahoning, and Stark counties. The National Weather Service warns of 3-6 inches of snow, hazardous road conditions, and single-digit wind chills.

According to the National Weather Service, lake-effect snow could bring snowfall rates of up to 1 inch per hour, creating slick roads and reducing visibility. The heaviest snow is expected Friday morning through the evening. Motorists should anticipate challenging commutes and plan accordingly.

The Ohio Department of Transportation recommends delaying non-essential travel and monitoring road conditions at www.ohgo.com. Bridges and overpasses are especially prone to becoming icy.

With temperatures dropping into the single digits Friday night, residents are advised to dress warmly and take precautions against frostbite. Local officials urge everyone to stay alert for sudden weather changes common in lake-effect snow zones.
