Cleveland, OH – A winter weather advisory is set to impact northeast Ohio, bringing snow and hazardous travel conditions Thursday morning. Local authorities urge drivers to prepare for slow and potentially dangerous commutes.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will take effect from 4 a.m. Thursday through 4 a.m. Friday. Snowfall is expected to reach 2 to 4 inches, with localized areas seeing up to 5 inches. Snowfall rates could peak at 0.5 inches per hour during Thursday morning and evening.

The advisory covers areas including Lake, Ashtabula, and Geauga Counties. Bridges and overpasses will likely become slick, increasing the risk of accidents. Road conditions may also disrupt the Thursday morning and evening rush hours.

Officials from the Ohio Department of Transportation recommend delaying nonessential travel and monitoring real-time road conditions at www.ohgo.com. Crews will be working to clear roadways, but drivers should remain cautious, especially on untreated surfaces.

The snow is expected to taper off late Thursday evening, though residual impacts could linger into Friday morning. Residents are encouraged to check forecasts regularly and prepare emergency supplies for vehicles, including flashlights, blankets, and water.

As winter weather settles over northeast Ohio, travelers should remain vigilant and prioritize safety to navigate these conditions effectively.
