Columbus, OH – A wind advisory has been issued for much of Ohio starting Friday at 10 a.m. through midnight. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that wind gusts could reach up to 55 mph, particularly in the central and southern regions.
According to the NWS office in Wilmington, the advisory covers cities such as Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton. Peak wind gusts between 50-55 mph are forecasted for areas like Brookville, Wilmington, and Butler. Other areas, including Marysville and Chillicothe, may see gusts ranging from 40-50 mph.
Residents are urged to secure loose objects outside their homes, such as patio furniture and decorations. NWS officials advise drivers, especially those in high-profile vehicles, to use caution as strong winds may create hazardous driving conditions.
The advisory will remain in effect until midnight, and residents should stay updated on the latest alerts. Power outages are possible, and tree limbs could be downed due to high winds.
