Cleveland, Ohio – Summer warmth and hazy skies are dominating northern Ohio today as temperatures climb into the upper 80s, with smoke from Canadian wildfires expected to linger into the evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, high temperatures for June 3 are running well above normal, peaking around 88°F in northwest cities like Findlay and Lima, and staying near 80°F in parts of northeast Ohio including Ashtabula and Meadville. While skies remain mostly clear, wildfire smoke may descend closer to the surface this afternoon, particularly west of I-71 and near I-75.

Air quality may briefly dip in areas such as Toledo, Sandusky, and parts of metro Cleveland as smoke mixes downward. While the smoke is primarily expected to stay aloft, residents with respiratory issues should limit outdoor activity during the warmest hours. Cities including Akron, Canton, and Youngstown will also experience smoky sunshine and temps in the low to mid-80s.

No major weather disruptions are expected, but officials advise checking air quality indexes before extended outdoor plans. The warm, sunny pattern will hold for much of the week.
