Cleveland, Ohio –

Northern Ohio will see abundant sunshine and a warming trend today, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 70s from Toledo to Akron. While skies will stay mostly clear, wildfire smoke from Canada is expected to drift over the region at higher altitudes.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, Tuesday’s highs will range from 74°F in Cleveland and Sandusky to 78°F in Toledo. Akron, Canton, and Marion will also reach the mid-70s, while Erie and Ashtabula stay slightly cooler in the upper 60s. The smoke layer should remain well above ground level, posing little health risk for most residents.

While the sunshine will bring more outdoor opportunities, officials urge residents with respiratory concerns to monitor local air quality conditions. No precipitation is expected, making for ideal road and travel conditions across northern counties including Cuyahoga, Summit, Lucas, and Mahoning.

Today marks the start of a broader warming trend that will last through midweek. Skies will remain mostly clear through Wednesday, with temperatures climbing several degrees higher in many areas by Thursday.
