Cleveland, Ohio –Much of northern Ohio will enjoy a mostly sunny and cooler Wednesday, but storms are poised to return by Thursday with a sharp rise in temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, today’s highs will range from the mid-50s near Lake Erie to the upper 60s in southern counties. Skies will stay clear through most of the day before clouds begin building this evening.
Overnight lows will dip into the mid-40s, with a 30 to 50 percent chance of showers developing late tonight. Cities like Akron, Mansfield, and Youngstown may see brief periods of rain before dawn Thursday.
By Thursday afternoon, a warm front will lift through the state, pushing temperatures as high as 80°F and bringing a surge of humidity and storms. Rain and thunderstorms are likely across the region, with the highest chances (80–90%) between noon and 8 p.m. in places like Canton, Elyria, and Ashtabula.
Residents should secure outdoor items and plan for possible delays during the evening commute. If thunder roars, head indoors—lightning strikes are possible with stronger cells.
Thunderstorm chances will taper off Thursday night, but additional rain is possible into the weekend.
