Ohio – Severe thunderstorms are expected to impact much of Ohio this afternoon, with the National Weather Service issuing a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for numerous counties across the state until 7 p.m. EDT. Strong storms capable of producing damaging winds, hail, and heavy rainfall are likely, and residents should remain alert as conditions rapidly change.

The watch includes major counties like Franklin, Hamilton, Montgomery, and Stark, among others. The storm is expected to bring wind gusts of up to 60 mph, large hail, and intense rainfall that could lead to localized flooding, especially in urban areas with poor drainage systems. The worst conditions are expected between late afternoon and early evening, with the heaviest storms moving eastward across the state.

Travelers along highways such as I-71, I-75, and I-270 should prepare for possible delays and hazardous road conditions. The combination of wet roads and high winds could make driving dangerous in some areas. The National Weather Service advises staying indoors during the storm and avoiding unnecessary travel.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. EDT, and additional alerts may be issued if conditions worsen. Stay tuned to local news and weather updates for the latest information.
