Wilmington, OH – Snow and rain are forecast to impact the Cincinnati and Dayton metro areas today, creating potential travel hazards. The National Weather Service predicts snowfall accumulation of 1-2 inches in northern and western parts of the region, including areas along I-75.
According to the NWS Wilmington office, snow mixed with rain will spread across the area by late morning, transitioning to rain by afternoon. Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility and slippery roads, especially on bridges and overpasses. The snow will taper off as temperatures rise slightly above freezing later in the day.
Tonight, temperatures will drop to the low 20s, raising the likelihood of icy patches on untreated surfaces. Motorists are advised to use caution, allow extra travel time, and avoid unnecessary trips during peak snowfall hours.
The weekend is expected to bring calmer conditions, with mostly sunny skies Saturday and Sunday. Highs will reach the upper 20s Saturday, climbing to the low 30s by Sunday. Nights will remain frigid, with lows around 16-20 degrees.
Looking ahead, Monday brings a slight warming trend with highs in the low 40s, but rain will return overnight and continue into Tuesday morning. Christmas Day appears mild and dry, with highs near 46 degrees.
Residents should stay updated on changing weather conditions and prepare for icy conditions this evening. Check for local alerts before traveling.
