Wilmington, OH – Scattered snow showers today will give way to a gradual warm-up by the weekend, providing relief from the recent deep freeze.
The National Weather Service reports snow showers will taper off tonight, with lows dropping to 7°F and wind chills reaching -1°F. Roads, particularly bridges and overpasses along I-71 and US-68, may freeze, creating slippery conditions. Drivers are urged to use caution and avoid unnecessary travel overnight.
Friday remains frigid with mostly sunny skies and a high near 20°F. However, the warming trend begins Saturday, with temperatures climbing to the mid-30s. Saturday night lows will hover around 25°F, marking a noticeable break from the subzero wind chills earlier this week.
Sunday continues the warming trend with a high near 33°F, followed by sunny skies Monday with a high of 37°F. While no significant snowfall is expected, drivers should remain cautious of icy patches lingering from tonight’s precipitation.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for improved conditions by the weekend but to remain vigilant on roadways tonight and early Friday.
