Cleveland, OH – Spring in Northeast Ohio will start on a soggy note Sunday, as Cleveland braces for heavy rain and gusty winds that could disrupt weekend plans and early commutes along I-90.

According to the National Weather Service, showers will likely begin early Sunday and intensify by afternoon. Winds from the southeast will increase to 13 mph, shifting southwest overnight. Wind gusts may reach up to 21 mph Monday, particularly along the I-90 corridor. Sunday’s high will hover near 49°F, with showers expected to taper off before dawn Monday.

Looking ahead, Cleveland will experience a short dry window Monday with partly sunny skies before a chance of rain and snow returns Monday night into Tuesday. Temperatures will stay in the mid-40s through Wednesday, with overnight lows in the 30s. Though snow accumulation is expected to be light, drivers should stay alert during late-night and early morning commutes.

Tuesday and Wednesday will bring brief clearing, though skies will remain mostly cloudy. Thursday offers some relief with mostly sunny weather and highs near 51°F, a welcome spring shift for outdoor plans.

Residents should dress in layers, prepare for slick road conditions late Monday into Tuesday, and monitor local alerts for any changes. Light snow or rain may continue into early Wednesday before conditions improve by week’s end.
