Cleveland, OH – Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to sweep across Ohio Monday afternoon as a cold front pushes through the region, bringing a brief but notable change in conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the front will arrive during the early to mid-afternoon hours Monday, April 14, with showers and a few thunderstorms expected to develop from northwest to southeast. Rainfall amounts will generally remain under 0.50 inches, with slightly higher totals possible along the Pennsylvania border.
The Storm Prediction Center places much of eastern Ohio and neighboring areas of western Pennsylvania under a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for severe weather, with a Slight Risk (level 2) identified farther south. Gusty winds and small hail are the primary hazards associated with stronger storms.
Temperatures on Sunday will reach the upper 50s and lower 60s across northern Ohio before dipping into the 40s overnight. The mild trend will reverse slightly Monday evening behind the front.
Residents in cities including Cleveland, Akron, Canton, and Youngstown should monitor local alerts and prepare for sudden changes in weather, especially during peak travel hours. Outdoor plans should be adjusted as showers may arrive as early as 2 p.m.
