Columbus, OH – A winter storm system will bring snow and rain to parts of Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana early this week, with potential travel impacts heading into Thanksgiving. Light snow accumulations are possible Monday, creating slippery conditions on I-70, I-80, and surrounding roadways.
According to the National Weather Service, precipitation will begin Monday morning, with snow and rain most likely in central and eastern Illinois, northern Indiana, and western Ohio. Snowfall totals are expected to remain below half an inch, but even light accumulation could create hazardous driving conditions during the morning and evening commutes.
The system will continue to move eastward into the Ohio Valley by Tuesday, bringing a greater chance of snow and icy conditions in Ohio. Cold air and gusty winds will follow the system through midweek, potentially impacting pre-Thanksgiving travel.
