Louisville, KY – Minor to moderate flooding continues in western Kentucky, particularly along the Green River, where water levels remain above flood stage. However, no additional flooding is expected in the near term, according to the Ohio River Forecast Center.
Recent heavy rains caused river levels to rise over the weekend, impacting areas of western Kentucky and pushing some Indiana rivers near bankfull. However, officials no longer anticipate flooding in Indiana.
The National Weather Service reports that light precipitation will move into the Ohio Valley tonight, with rainfall amounts expected to remain at or below 0.25 inches. The widespread rain is not expected to create additional hydrologic concerns.
Residents in flood-prone areas are still encouraged to monitor river levels and remain cautious, especially in areas near the Green River. Officials advise staying updated through local emergency management and weather service alerts.
