Wilmington, OH – The Ohio Valley, including Wilmington, Ohio, is set to experience a heavy downpour this weekend, with rainfall projections reaching up to half an inch between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Residents should prepare for showers likely to continue into Sunday, with thunderstorms possibly intensifying the rainfall late Saturday night.

According to the National Weather Service, showers will start Saturday evening, with precipitation chances rising to 80% by midnight. New rainfall amounts are expected to range between a quarter and half of an inch. Thunderstorms may further increase the rainfall totals and create hazardous conditions on roadways such as U.S. Route 68, where visibility could be impacted.

Sunday morning will continue with scattered thunderstorms, tapering off by the afternoon. The total rainfall for Sunday could reach an additional quarter of an inch. Thunderstorms are expected to clear by late Sunday night, although cloudy conditions will persist.

Looking ahead to the week, the Ohio Valley will see more unsettled weather. Monday will bring another round of showers, likely in the early morning, with new precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch. Patchy dense fog is also forecast for Monday night, particularly after midnight, creating potential driving hazards.

Tuesday’s forecast suggests a brief break in the rain, though patchy fog will continue to pose challenges for morning commuters. By Wednesday, the weather improves, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 68°F.
