Wilmington, OH – Frigid conditions are gripping the Ohio Valley this week, with snow expected to impact the region by Friday evening. Residents are urged to prepare for plummeting temperatures and hazardous road conditions as winter weather intensifies.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington, wind chills will approach zero or below tonight and persist through Thursday night. By Friday, snow is likely to develop, especially in the afternoon and evening, with a 70% chance of accumulation. Forecasters warn that icy roadways and reduced visibility may disrupt travel across State Route 73 and other key roads in the area.

Tonight, temperatures will drop to a low of 7°F with wind chills dipping as low as -1°F. Wednesday will bring mostly cloudy skies, with highs near 22°F and a brisk northwest wind. Thursday remains cold and sunny, with a high of 19°F. Snow is expected to move in Friday afternoon, accompanied by highs near 23°F.

The weekend forecast shows Saturday will remain cold with a high of 27°F, while Sunday brings a slight chance of additional snow and highs near 28°F.

Residents should monitor weather updates, limit outdoor exposure during low wind chills, and keep emergency kits in their vehicles. Snow removal crews are expected to be on standby as road conditions deteriorate by late Friday.
