Wilmington, Ohio – Thunderstorms and soaking rain will hit Wilmington and much of southwest Ohio Monday into Tuesday, with travel slowdowns and localized downpours likely.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, showers and thunderstorms will develop around noon Monday and continue into the evening. A second round of storms is expected Tuesday afternoon, potentially impacting areas near U.S. 68 and U.S. 35. Rainfall totals through Tuesday night could exceed a quarter inch in heavier storms. Thunder and lightning may affect outdoor plans and disrupt localized traffic.

Winds will increase slightly during each storm window, especially Monday afternoon when gusts could reach 10 mph out of the southeast. Tuesday’s storms may bring isolated heavier bursts after 2 p.m. as a low-pressure system slides through central Ohio. Neither day is expected to bring severe storms, but downpours and slick roads are possible.
