Cleveland, OH – Strong thunderstorms are set to return to northeast Ohio beginning Monday afternoon, bringing gusty winds, downpours, and potential hail to Cleveland and surrounding counties.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a cold front will move into the region Monday, allowing widespread showers and thunderstorms to develop. The most significant impacts are expected Monday evening into Tuesday, especially along I-90 and I-80 corridors, where wind gusts could reach 36 mph and isolated storms may produce large hail.

Storms are forecast to develop by late Monday afternoon and continue into the night. Monday’s high will reach 67°F before conditions deteriorate. Wind gusts up to 26 mph are possible Monday night, with peak storm activity likely between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Spotter activation is not expected as of Sunday, but residents should stay alert to changing conditions.

Tuesday will remain breezy with more scattered showers. Highs will dip into the upper 40s, and rain chances continue through Tuesday night. Wednesday and Thursday will offer a break with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid-50s.
