Cleveland, OH – The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a Wind Advisory for the Lake Erie shoreline region, warning residents of strong westerly winds expected to impact northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania through Wednesday evening.
The advisory, in effect from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, includes Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake, and Ashtabula Counties in Ohio, as well as Erie County, Pennsylvania. Winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, especially near the lakeshore late this afternoon and evening.
Forecasters warn that the gusty conditions could knock down tree limbs, cause scattered power outages, and make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles along Interstate 90 and the Ohio Turnpike.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, use caution when driving, and stay alert for downed power lines or debris. Winds are expected to gradually ease after 10 p.m., though breezy conditions may persist overnight.
