Cleveland, OH – Residents across Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania should prepare for a noticeable weather shift starting late Monday as a cold front moves through, bringing rain, falling temperatures, and gusty winds into Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the greatest chance for rain Monday afternoon is between 4 and 6 p.m., with cities like Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown seeing up to a 60% probability of showers. Rainfall amounts are expected to remain under 0.25 inches. High temperatures Monday will reach into the upper 60s and low 70s before rapidly cooling in the evening.

By Tuesday, colder air behind the front will keep temperatures stuck in the 40s throughout the day. Wind gusts from the west-northwest could reach 45 mph, especially in areas west of the I-77 corridor and near the Lake Erie shoreline. Rain will be more widespread on Tuesday, with an 88% chance in Youngstown and 91% in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Higher terrain in Northwest Pennsylvania may even see snow mixing in by late afternoon.

Drivers should use caution on the roads during peak gust periods and consider delaying travel if possible. Secure outdoor items, and layer appropriately as conditions turn sharply cooler and wetter by Tuesday morning.
