Pittsburgh, PA – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for parts of eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia from Saturday morning through Sunday evening, warning of potential flooding due to excessive rainfall.

According to the NWS Pittsburgh, heavy rain is expected to cause significant runoff, which may lead to flooding in low-lying areas, creeks, streams, and urban locations with poor drainage. The affected areas include Pittsburgh, Morgantown, Zanesville, and Wheeling, among others.

Residents should be prepared for rising water levels in local rivers and streams, with possible road closures and property damage in flood-prone areas. Officials urge caution and recommend monitoring local forecasts for further updates.

If flooding occurs, avoid driving through standing water and move to higher ground if necessary. The NWS advises those in vulnerable locations to have an emergency plan in place.
