Ohio – Light snow drifts across central Ohio this morning, dusting bridges and overpasses just enough to create slick spots for the early drive. Temperatures sit near 26 degrees in Columbus, and untreated pavement can turn slippery quickly.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, light accumulations remain under a half inch through late morning. The greatest concern centers on elevated roads and shaded surfaces. Drivers along I-70, I-71, and Route 315 should allow extra braking distance through midmorning.
Skies gradually brighten later today as highs reach 39 degrees. Any minor accumulation melts this afternoon, but refreezing is possible tonight as lows dip to 36 with patchy fog and scattered rain after 1 p.m.
A major pattern shift unfolds Tuesday. Rain becomes likely after 7 a.m., with highs surging to 56 degrees and a 90% chance of precipitation. Periods of steady rain continue Tuesday night and Wednesday, when highs climb to 62. Rain chances hold near 80%, and localized ponding may develop in low-lying areas.
By Thursday, temperatures spike to 69 degrees with additional rainfall. That’s more than a 40-degree swing from this morning’s chill. Repeated rounds of rain through Saturday raise the risk of minor flooding across central Ohio.
The broader 6- to 10-day outlook favors continued above-normal temperatures into early next week.
Clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. Longer daylight arrives just as this March warm spell builds.
