Cleveland, OH – The first day of fall is bringing one final surge of summer heat across northern Ohio. Sunday will feature temperatures in the upper 80s, with some areas along I-90 potentially hitting 90 degrees. While it may feel like summer is sticking around, relief is on the way.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to move into the Cleveland area tonight, with a cold front sweeping through by Monday morning. The region can expect another round of showers on Tuesday, bringing cooler temperatures for the rest of the week. Although rainfall amounts will likely not be enough to break the ongoing drought, they will provide some much-needed moisture for the parched region.

Residents should prepare for wet conditions during Monday’s commute and plan accordingly, especially along I-90 and I-80, where rain may reduce visibility and lead to slippery roads. The cooler temperatures will bring some relief as highs will drop into the 70s by Tuesday and Wednesday. Be sure to stay updated on local weather advisories and road conditions through midweek.
