Cleveland, Ohio – Ohio’s final day under a heat advisory is bringing sweltering conditions to much of the northern part of the state, with temperatures soaring into the mid-90s by late afternoon Tuesday. Cities including Youngstown, Akron, and Cleveland could see peak heat index values near 100°F before relief arrives midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Highs will range from 91°F to 94°F across the region, including 93°F in Akron-Canton, Toledo, and Elyria. The advisory covers a wide area from Findlay and Marion up through Sandusky, Mentor, and Ashtabula.

Cleveland commuters are urged to limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and avoid leaving children or pets in vehicles. Cooling centers may be available in some counties, and power companies are asking customers to conserve energy during peak usage hours.

This marks the final day of oppressive heat before slightly cooler weather returns beginning Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase from midweek into the weekend, bringing potential relief and unsettled conditions.
