Cleveland, OH – A frost advisory is in effect for much of northern Ohio and parts of western Pennsylvania, with temperatures expected to dip to 32°F overnight. Sensitive plants in these areas could face damage if not properly covered. The advisory is set to last from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will drop low enough to cause frost formation, particularly in Ashtabula Inland, Stark, Summit, Mahoning, Trumbull, and other counties in Ohio, as well as Crawford and Southern Erie counties in Pennsylvania. With these low temperatures, any exposed outdoor plants could be harmed or killed if left unprotected.

Communities including Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, Canton, and Niles are all in the advisory area. Residents are urged to take steps now to protect sensitive vegetation by covering plants or moving them indoors where possible. Gardens, flowering plants, and outdoor shrubs are at the highest risk.

Be prepared for chilly conditions, especially in the early morning hours, and check any outdoor plants before heading to bed. The frost threat is expected to end by 8 a.m. Saturday, but more advisories could be issued if conditions persist.
