Killbuck, Ohio – Several rural roads in Holmes County are underwater Sunday after Killbuck Creek surged past flood stage overnight, prompting a Flood Warning that remains in effect until early Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the creek rose above its 15.0-foot flood stage early Sunday and is expected to crest at 15.4 feet by Sunday evening. Low-lying roads including Township Roads 91 and 92, and County Roads 621 and 622 are currently experiencing minor flooding.

The warning covers areas near Killbuck and extends into parts of Wayne County. While the flooding is considered minor, emergency officials are urging residents to avoid driving through high water or around barricades.

Killbuck Creek will begin falling below flood stage by Monday evening, but standing water may linger in flood-prone areas. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes and remain alert for rising water along less-traveled rural roads.

The next update from the National Weather Service is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. Sunday. Flood warnings remain in place through early Tuesday, and additional alerts are possible if rainfall increases.
