Ohio – Ohio voters should brace for strong winds and near-record heat on Election Day. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington issued a forecast predicting gusty winds as high as 40 mph in many areas. High temperatures may approach the upper 70s to around 80 degrees, making for an unusually warm November day.
According to the NWS, the strongest winds will hit during the afternoon, with potential gusts affecting polling locations statewide. Although rain is expected later, precipitation should hold off until after sunset, minimizing impact during polling hours. However, voters may still face challenging conditions due to the high winds, which could pose hazards on roads and walkways.
The NWS advises voters to dress appropriately for the unseasonable warmth and prepare for gusty winds, especially if standing in outdoor lines. Cooler temperatures and rain are expected late Tuesday night, bringing relief from the heat but possibly affecting post-election travel.
