Wilmington, OH – Heavy rain is set to sweep through Wilmington and surrounding areas tonight, creating hazardous conditions for drivers along I-71 and other local roadways. Up to an inch of rain is expected overnight, with additional rainfall likely on Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin after 9 p.m. and intensify into the early morning hours. Winds from the southeast will reach speeds of 10 to 16 mph, reducing visibility and making travel potentially dangerous. Drivers are advised to slow down and remain cautious, especially in low-lying areas prone to ponding.
The rain will continue into Sunday, with temperatures climbing to a high of 47°F during the day. Sunday night will bring additional showers, with gusts of wind and totals nearing another inch of precipitation.
