Cincinnati, OH – A fast-moving winter storm is sweeping through central and southern Ohio and Indiana, bringing up to 3 inches of snow and creating hazardous driving conditions through Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, light to moderate snow will begin overnight Saturday, intensifying during the early hours of Sunday. The heaviest snow is expected along the Interstate 70 corridor and southward, including areas around Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis, and Bloomington. Travel conditions could deteriorate quickly, especially on less-traveled roads, bridges, and elevated surfaces.
The system is expected to drop 1-2 inches of snow across much of the region, with isolated areas in southern Indiana possibly receiving closer to 3 inches. Road crews will be out treating major thoroughfares, but icy patches and low visibility could cause delays. Motorists are urged to slow down, use extra caution, and consider delaying nonessential travel until the snow subsides later in the day.
In addition to the snowfall, temperatures are forecast to hover near freezing, which could prolong icy conditions into Sunday afternoon. The five-day outlook shows the potential for additional wintry weather later in the week, as cold air remains entrenched in the region.
Residents should monitor updates from local officials and the National Weather Service for changing forecasts and road conditions. If traveling, carry an emergency kit and ensure your vehicle is winter-ready.
