Lake Charles, LA – A flood watch has been extended for the Calcasieu River near Oberlin, Louisiana, as water levels are expected to rise above flood stage by Wednesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, the river’s current level is 9.4 feet, but forecasts indicate it could surpass the 13-foot flood stage late Wednesday. If levels continue to rise, minor flooding in low-lying areas near the river may occur.
