Cleveland, Ohio – Much of northern Ohio will see a noticeable cool-down and scattered showers today as a cold front pushes southeast, with heaviest rain and storm activity likely inland through Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a cold front currently over northwest Ohio is bringing highs down into the upper 60s and low 70s around Toledo and Sandusky, while areas farther southeast like Akron and Youngstown may still hit the low-to-mid 80s. Overnight lows will range from 60°F to 64°F across the region.

Rainfall totals will vary, but parts of Marion and Mansfield could receive up to 1.5 inches through Friday evening. Cities including Akron, Canton, and Youngstown are projected to receive 0.5 to 1 inch, with lighter totals closer to the lakeshore in Cleveland and Erie. Most storms are not expected to be severe, but a few could produce gusty winds and downpours during afternoon and evening hours.

Motorists should watch for localized ponding on roads and be prepared for reduced visibility during heavier showers. Power outages aren’t expected, but it’s wise to charge mobile devices and avoid outdoor plans during peak storm times.

Additional storm chances linger into Friday evening, especially for inland counties. Updates will follow as new radar data becomes available.
