Boonville, New York – Snow and a light glaze of ice will continue to create hazardous travel across Northern Oneida County overnight, with impacts lasting through 7 a.m. EST Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 a.m. for Northern Oneida County. Additional snowfall up to 3 inches is expected, along with light ice accumulation as mixed precipitation persists into the overnight hours.

Road conditions will become slick after dark.

Route 12, Route 46, and secondary roads near Boonville may see snow-covered pavement and patchy ice, especially on bridges and untreated surfaces. The combination of accumulating snow and a thin glaze could impact the early Saturday morning commute before daybreak.

Drivers should slow down now and allow extra stopping distance. Motorists can check updated road conditions by calling 511 before traveling.

Precipitation is expected to taper toward sunrise, but residual moisture may refreeze in colder spots. The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 a.m. EST Saturday.
