Cleveland, OH – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for northern Ohio from 5 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday, with heavy lake effect snow expected to impact travel.
The National Weather Service warns that Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula Inland, and Ashtabula Lakeshore counties could see snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Ashtabula County may receive more than 6 inches if a heavy lake effect snow band becomes stationary.
Slippery road conditions are likely to disrupt travel, particularly during the Friday evening commute. Motorists are advised to slow down and allow extra time for travel. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, delays are expected, and travelers should check ohgo.com for real-time road updates.
Snowfall will begin with a burst of activity Friday evening, followed by ongoing lake effect snow showers into Saturday. The heaviest impacts are predicted near Lake Erie, with lesser amounts in western Cuyahoga County.
Residents should prepare for hazardous conditions, ensure vehicles are winter-ready, and monitor local weather updates.
