Cleveland, OH – Strong winds are set to sweep across northern Ohio and western Pennsylvania today, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A wind advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. Monday through early Tuesday morning for affected regions, including Cleveland, Toledo, and Erie, PA. The advisory highlights southwest winds sustained at 25 mph with powerful gusts capable of toppling tree limbs and causing isolated power outages.

According to the NWS, the advisory for counties such as Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, and Erie, PA, will remain in place until 6 a.m. Tuesday, while other areas like Medina and Lucas counties will see the advisory end at 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items and exercise caution when driving, especially in high-profile vehicles. The gusty conditions are expected to make driving difficult, particularly on open roads and bridges.

The NWS also warns of potential power disruptions and downed tree limbs as the winds intensify. Officials recommend staying indoors and limiting outdoor activities during peak wind hours.
