Cleveland, OH – Lake effect snow and dangerously cold temperatures are impacting northern Ohio, with snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches expected in many areas through Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snowfall is anticipated in the snowbelt regions east of Cleveland, including Ashtabula, Geauga, and Lake counties. Additional snowfall of 1–4 inches is likely across much of northeast Ohio. Erie County, Pennsylvania, is projected to see the highest totals, with up to 7 inches possible.

A cold weather advisory is also in effect until Wednesday morning, with wind chills potentially dropping as low as -24°F. These conditions could lead to frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution, as reduced visibility and slippery roads are expected. The Ohio Department of Transportation advises residents to limit unnecessary travel and monitor roadway conditions at OHGO.com.

Temperatures will remain frigid, with highs near 10°F Monday and single-digit lows overnight. Tuesday is forecasted to remain cold, with slightly improved conditions expected midweek.

Residents are encouraged to bundle up, check on vulnerable individuals, and prepare for hazardous travel conditions throughout the region.
