Duluth, Minnesota – Drivers and early risers along the North Shore and Arrowhead region could face reduced visibility through early Wednesday as dense fog develops off Lake Superior alongside lingering rain showers.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, a band of light rain is moving northeast through northern Minnesota today, with isolated showers expected to stick around through Wednesday, especially in the Arrowhead and parts of northwest Wisconsin. Fog is expected to become dense overnight near the lake, particularly along the North Shore and at the head of Lake Superior.

Cities like Duluth, Two Harbors, and Grand Marais may see visibility drop below a quarter mile after sunset. Commuters are urged to slow down and use headlights in fog-prone areas. Brainerd Lakes and Hayward, Wisconsin, could see scattered showers return by Thursday, with a 30–50% rain chance.

Tonight’s conditions could be hazardous for overnight travel and early morning outdoor plans. Residents should monitor weather alerts and allow extra travel time.

Fog advisories could expand if visibility worsens, and additional rain is possible through Thursday afternoon.
