Gaylord, MI – A chilly weekend continues across northern Michigan, with below-normal temperatures holding steady through Sunday. The region is expected to stay dry until late Sunday night, when a new round of precipitation could bring accumulating snow.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, snow showers are forecast to begin Sunday night and continue into Monday morning, potentially overlapping with areas still recovering from recent ice storm damage. While exact totals remain uncertain, the agency warns of a few inches of snow possible, with temperatures holding in the upper 20s to mid-30s through midweek.

Highs on Sunday may reach 48°F in some areas, with increasing clouds ahead of the snow system. Monday and Tuesday will stay colder, with highs only in the 28° to 38°F range. Some clearing is expected Tuesday, but snow showers may return by midweek.

Residents are urged to prepare for potentially slick travel Monday morning, particularly in areas hit hardest by the previous ice storm. Motorists should allow extra travel time and monitor local alerts for updated snowfall predictions and road conditions.
