A cold front will sweep through Northern Michigan tonight, dropping temperatures and bringing scattered showers. Football fans attending games in Eastern Upper Michigan and along I-75 should bundle up, with temps falling into the mid-40s and a chance of light rain starting after 7 p.m. Winds from the northwest will range from 5-15 mph, making it feel even cooler.

According to the US National Weather Service in Gaylord, the strongest chance of showers will be in the Upper Peninsula, where there is a 30% chance of rain by sunset at 6:32 p.m. Lower Michigan is likely to stay drier, with just a 5% chance of showers in the northwest and northeast regions. For those in areas like Petoskey, Gaylord, and Traverse City, temperatures will dip into the low 40s by 10 p.m. The weather may not fully disrupt outdoor activities, but attendees should prepare for cooler winds and the possibility of damp conditions.

Weekend Outlook for Northern Michigan

Looking ahead, Saturday will be partly sunny, but isolated showers may continue in the early morning hours, primarily along I-75 and near the Mackinac Bridge. Daytime highs will reach around 54°F, with mostly clear skies expected by nightfall. By Sunday, Northern Michigan will see mostly sunny skies and a high near 56°F, making it a more pleasant day for outdoor activities.

Next Week: More Showers Expected

Monday and Tuesday will bring a return of showers, with a higher chance of precipitation starting late Monday night. Highs will reach into the low 60s, and showers could persist into Wednesday. Be sure to check local updates and plan accordingly for potential rain throughout the week.
