Fort Wayne, Indiana – Clouds will linger across northern Indiana today, but all eyes are on late Saturday, when the risk of rain and thunderstorms sharply increases across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, early morning fog will give way to mostly cloudy skies Friday with a 20% chance of isolated showers or storms, primarily in far northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. Highs will reach the mid-70s with light winds.

Saturday brings a broader risk. Storm chances rise to 30–60% by late afternoon and evening, especially south of U.S. Route 30. Showers may continue overnight into early Sunday. By Sunday afternoon, skies will briefly turn partly sunny, but another round of scattered thunderstorms is possible (30–40% chance), especially near the Michigan and Ohio borders.

Cities like Fort Wayne, Warsaw, and Angola could see slick roads and brief downpours, especially Saturday evening and Sunday. Residents planning outdoor events should have backup indoor plans and stay weather-aware.

Rain chances begin to taper by late Sunday night, but more systems could approach midweek. Stay tuned for additional advisories if the pattern becomes more active.
