Fort Wayne, IN – A wind advisory has been issued for northern Indiana and northwest Ohio, with gusts up to 50 mph expected on Friday. The strongest winds will impact the region from mid-morning through the evening, creating potential hazards for travel and power outages.

According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds will range between 20 to 30 mph, with the highest gusts reaching 50 mph in areas such as Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Lima, OH. The advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. EST (9 a.m. CST) until 7 p.m. EST (6 p.m. CST) Friday, with slightly earlier expiration at 4 p.m. EST (3 p.m. CST) for counties in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

Residents should secure outdoor objects, as loose items may be blown around by the gusty conditions. Tree limbs could be knocked down, and isolated power outages are possible. Drivers, especially those in high-profile vehicles, are urged to use caution.

Winds will begin to subside Friday evening, but breezy conditions could linger into Saturday morning. Stay updated with local weather alerts and be prepared for potential disruptions.
