The event occurred between 3:58 p.m. and 4:15 p.m., creating a 10-mile path of destruction. Trees and large limbs were downed along Chapman Lake, with scattered structural damage reported.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), this microburst did not involve a tornado, but the damage was severe. Chapman Lake and areas to its east and south were hardest hit. Wind speeds reached 80 mph, and some buildings sustained sporadic damage from falling trees and debris.
NWS officials also confirmed another microburst from the same storm affected Whitley and Allen counties. Winds of at least 60 mph were recorded there. First responders continue to assess damage throughout the affected regions.
The storm left no injuries or fatalities, but the cleanup continues. Emergency services and utility crews are working to clear debris and restore power. Residents are advised to stay cautious while assessments are underway.
