Eureka, CA – A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for elevations above 3,000 feet in Northern Trinity County, effective from Friday at 5 p.m. through Saturday at 4 p.m. The National Weather Service warns of heavy snowfall, with accumulations of up to 23 inches possible.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning includes key areas such as Highway 3 at Scott Mountain Summit and Highway 299 at Buckhorn Summit. Wind gusts are expected to reach speeds of up to 35 mph, further complicating travel conditions.

Impacts are expected to include reduced visibility due to blowing snow, increased risk of traffic accidents, and potentially impassable roads in affected areas. Residents and travelers are urged to exercise caution and monitor updates as conditions evolve.
