Eureka, California – Spring travel across Northern California could slow Friday and Saturday as a series of rain showers brings a soggy stretch to Eureka and surrounding Humboldt County communities.

According to the National Weather Service, a 50% chance of showers returns Friday morning, with rainfall continuing into Friday night and again on Saturday. Northwest winds up to 13 mph, with gusts near 20 mph, could further impact travel along U.S. Highway 101, especially between Eureka and Arcata. Drivers should prepare for slick roads, reduced visibility, and delays during commutes or weekend plans.

Rainfall totals are expected to be light—less than a tenth of an inch per event—but back-to-back systems may dampen outdoor activities. Saturday’s high will hover near 53°F under continued cloud cover. By Saturday night, conditions begin to ease as skies turn mostly cloudy and rain chances decrease to 30%.

Sunday marks a noticeable shift, bringing partly sunny skies and highs in the mid-50s. The warming trend continues into early next week, with mostly sunny skies and highs climbing to near 58°F by Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to stay dry, with highs near 59°F and 61°F respectively.
