San Francisco, CA – The Bay glistens under a restless morning sky, the kind that makes trees sway and gulls hover midair before the next gust hits. The first full week of November has turned lively across Northern California, with wind, high tides, and rain dominating the midweek weather story.

A Wind Advisory and Coastal Flood Advisory remain in effect across the San Francisco Bay Area and Monterey Bay, as southerly winds gust 35 to 45 mph today and tidal surges peak near 9 feet through Wednesday. The National Weather Service warns that low-lying coastal roads, piers, and parking lots could experience minor flooding, especially during mid-morning high tides.

Rain will move through the region later today into Wednesday, adding slick roads and low-visibility travel conditions during commute hours. Drivers are urged to secure outdoor items, avoid flooded underpasses, and plan for extra travel time, especially near the Embarcadero, Highway 1, and Marin shoreline routes.

By Thursday, calmer weather returns with mostly sunny skies and highs near 67°F. Friday continues the trend, offering a warm-up toward 70°F by the weekend — perfect timing for outdoor Veterans Day events or early holiday shopping downtown.

To be fair, this kind of November weather shift is typical of the Bay’s seasonal rhythm — a few gusty, gray days before calm sun breaks through. But for now, watch for water on low roads and gusts near the coast as the region rides out one of its first significant autumn weather events of the month.
