Sacramento, CA – Northern California is bracing for an extended heatwave, with temperatures hovering near 100°F throughout the weekend. The heat advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, remains in effect through 11 p.m. tonight as highs reach 101°F in the Sacramento Valley and surrounding areas.

Thursday will see more scorching conditions, with highs forecasted at 98°F and light winds offering little relief. By Friday, temperatures are expected to hit 95°F under sunny skies, continuing into Saturday with a high of 96°F. Overnight temperatures will remain warm, with lows dipping only to the mid-60s.

Looking ahead to Sunday, the region will experience slight relief as temperatures drop to a high of 94°F, before cooling further on Monday to a more comfortable 91°F. The heat is expected to remain intense during peak daytime hours, particularly in the foothills where major heat risks are forecasted.
