Sacramento, CA – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Elevated Fire Weather Conditions warning for the Sacramento Valley. The alert, which extends from Monday, September 23 to Tuesday, September 24, calls for strong gusts and low humidity, particularly along the I-5 corridor.

According to the NWS, daytime humidity will drop to the teens and low 20s, with wind gusts reaching up to 30 mph. These conditions are especially concerning in the Delta and Sierra foothills regions. The NWS urges residents to take precautions and avoid outdoor activities that may spark fires, such as using equipment that generates heat or disposing of cigarettes carelessly.

Nighttime humidity levels may recover slightly, ranging between 30% and 55%. However, the elevated fire risk remains high due to the ongoing winds. Authorities recommend motorists keep vehicles off dry grass and maintain vigilance during this period.
