Sacramento, CA – A powerful storm system is expected to bring rain, snow, and strong winds to Northern California through February 7. The National Weather Service warns of multiple waves of precipitation, impacting different regions throughout the week.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy rain will begin today, leading to potential flooding in poor drainage areas. On Monday, colder air will cause mountain snow showers, with snow levels dropping to 5,000-6,500 feet. By Tuesday, the storm will intensify, bringing moderate to heavy snowfall to higher elevations.

Snow levels will lower to 3,500 feet by Wednesday, increasing travel hazards in the mountains. The storm will continue into Thursday, keeping snow levels between 1,500 and 2,500 feet in Shasta County. By Friday, light valley rain and additional mountain snow are expected.

Residents should stay alert for changing conditions and possible road closures. Authorities advise travelers to check for updates and prepare for hazardous conditions.
