Texarkana, TX – Three tornadoes touched down in Northeast Texas during severe storms on March 4, bringing peak winds up to 110 mph. The National Weather Service in Shreveport confirmed all three tornadoes were rated EF-1.
According to preliminary damage reports, the first tornado struck Morris County at 7:44 a.m., lasting 11 minutes. It traveled 9.3 miles with estimated peak winds of 88 mph and a maximum width of 735 yards. No injuries or deaths were reported.
The second tornado hit between Lydia and Malta from 7:47 a.m. to 8:07 a.m. It reached peak winds of 100 mph, stretching 19.8 miles with a width of 850 yards. The third tornado moved from Dalby Springs to New Boston between 7:51 a.m. and 8:09 a.m. It had peak winds of 110 mph, a path length of 19.68 miles, and a maximum width of 580 yards.
