Cleveland, Ohio – A lake breeze off Lake Erie is keeping northeast Ohio cooler than much of the state this Tuesday, with highs expected to top out in the mid-50s to low 60s along the shoreline by late afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, temperatures will rise to around 54°F in Erie, PA, and 56°F in Ashtabula, while inland cities like Akron, Youngstown, and Mansfield may reach 65°F. The cooler pockets along the lake are the result of lake breeze development, which is also bringing partly cloudy skies and dry air to the region.

Cleveland is forecast to stay near 60°F throughout the day, with a noticeable drop in wind chill near the water. Inland communities like Wooster and Canton could feel slightly warmer, edging into the upper 60s by mid-afternoon. No precipitation is expected, and visibility remains clear across major roadways including I-90 and Route 11.

Residents near Lake Erie should expect breezy conditions into the early evening. Temperatures will gradually fall after sunset, with calm conditions expected overnight. Another update on regional temperatures is expected by early Wednesday.
