Cleveland, OH – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of Northeast Ohio, including Lake and Ashtabula counties, as lake effect snow is set to impact the region starting Wednesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will be in effect from 4 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday. Snow showers transitioning to lake effect snow are expected to bring up to 4 inches of accumulation in some areas, with wind gusts reaching 45 mph. The advisory highlights potential travel disruptions during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes due to slippery road conditions and reduced visibility.

Forecasters warn that moderate to heavy snow bands may develop tonight before shifting northward Thursday morning. The gusty winds could also cause tree branches to fall, adding to the hazards.

Motorists are urged to slow down, use caution, and consider delaying non-essential travel. The Ohio Department of Transportation recommends checking OHGO.com for updated road and traffic conditions.

Stay prepared for changing weather and plan your commute accordingly.
