Northeast Mississippi Braces for Strong Winds and Possible Tornadoes

Northeast Mississippi – Residents of Northeast Mississippi are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 PM Tuesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the watch due to storms that could bring damaging winds, large hail, and potentially a tornado or two.

The NWS predicts wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail as large as 1.5 inches in diameter. The severe storm system is moving across the region and covers an area within 60 miles east and west of a line from Cincinnati, OH, to Nashville, TN.

Mississippi residents are advised to remain alert as weather conditions could change quickly. According to the NWS, severe thunderstorms can produce dangerous winds and hail, which could cause property damage and power outages.
